Risk Control of Artificial Soil Covering Cultivation of Morels
The cultivation project of morels has the characteristics of low threshold and high risk. Since the commercial cultivation of morels, the outcome of most cultivators not making money has not changed. Therefore, risk control of morel cultivation is something that all practitioners must consider and control.
The following points should be done:
(1) Controllability of facilities. Morel cultivation is a product of facility-based cultivation. Only good facilities can achieve the goal of man-made success. Poor facilities have poor controllability and often have no ability to resist abnormal climate, which can easily lead to reduced production or even no production.
The controllability of facilities must take into account factors such as warming, cooling, wind resistance, snow resistance, humidification, and ventilation. In winter and spring every year, climate change is the norm, and various abnormal climates are encountered almost every year. Therefore, advance plans and preventive measures must be made.
(2) Morels make money from accumulated technical experience. The cultivation process of morels is simple, but for novices, the success rate is not high, and once problems occur, it is often difficult to make up for them. As a grower, you need to learn more, summarize more, and think more, especially to strengthen your understanding of the principles, rules, and characteristics of cultivation technology, and then manage it in a way that suits its needs.
(3) The strain is the basis of cultivation. Morchella is an ascomycete. The screening of strain sources, the quality control of the production process, and the maintenance of the strain species are difficult. In addition, driven by the high profits of strains, a large number of people who do not have production capacity have entered, which has brought more uncertainty to the instability of strain quality. Therefore, growers also need to have a certain understanding and ability to distinguish strain knowledge. It is best to conduct field investigations and trials before expanding the scale.
(4) Nutrient bags are crucial for high yields. Sufficient nutrient supply is the basis for the physiological maturity of morels. Once the nutrient bags are contaminated or the decomposition, absorption and utilization are abnormal, it will lead to serious reduction in production and even total crop failure. Therefore, in order to prevent nutrient pollution, choosing high-quality and sufficient nutrient bags is the guarantee of high yield.
(5) Management brings benefits. Large-scale cultivation in the morel industry needs to pay attention to management. Because morels are sensitive to abnormal climate and are easily damaged, large-scale cultivation requires timely response. During the harvest period, when the harvest is high, the labor demand is large, and supporting facilities, materials and manpower need to be planned in advance.
