Most of the time, morels are cultivated in simple facilities, which are greatly affected by climatic factors. Therefore, the purpose of artificially regulating the maturity time during the cultivation stage is to make the mycelium of morels reach physiological maturity when the most suitable climate comes. When the internal and external factors are in place, bud induction can be carried out. Only at this right time, in accordance with the will of nature, and correct bud induction can achieve twice the result with half the effort, and make the mushroom buds grow evenly and neatly at one time.

There are two criteria for controlling this timing node:


(1) Internal factors: A few needle-point mushrooms begin to emerge evenly (careful observation is required, and differentiation begins but not full differentiation), indicating that they are physiologically mature.
(2) External factors: The minimum temperature in the greenhouse is above 4℃, and the optimal temperature is above 8℃.
The cold greenhouse requires the minimum temperature outside to be above 0℃, and there is no low temperature in the next week.
The warm greenhouse is highly controllable, mainly depending on the temperature inside the greenhouse.
The temperature outside the greenhouse is only for reference, and the controllability of the internal temperature is more important.

The operation of watering the buds of morels has two sides:


1. For mature mycelium, it can effectively stimulate the differentiation of primordia and form dense and neat mushroom buds.
2. For immature mycelium, it has a negative effect, interfering with the normal physiological activities of mycelium, delaying mycelium maturation, missing the best fruiting period, and even bringing the risk of no fruiting.


Therefore, the best time to promote buds must be based on the differentiation of primordia and guaranteed by suitable temperature. After the bud-promoting operation of watering, the primordia can be observed to begin to differentiate evenly and neatly in 48 to 72 hours.
