Sealing of Shiitake Mushroom Loggings

(1) Manual Sealing: The person sealing the bag adjusts the amount of substrate inside according to the required quantity, and cleans the outer wall of the bag and the remaining 6cm of film inside the bag opening. Hold the bag opening with the left hand and press the substrate inside the bag tightly with the right hand. Gather the bag opening and rotate it until it is close to the substrate. Tie it with a fiber rope three times, fold the bag opening back, tie it two more times, and then tie it two more times through the folded seam to tighten it. This sealing method is not only fast and labor-saving, but also prevents bag bulging during sterilization and has good anti-impurity effects.

After sealing the bag, if using a double-bag production method, an outer bag can be placed over the substrate bag. The bag opening is tied with a slipknot for easy untying during inoculation.

(2) Machine Sealing: For large-scale production, a sealing machine can be used, sealing 1000 bags per hour. Producing 10,000 mushroom bags used to require 6 to 8 people for the sealing process, but now only 2 people are needed to complete it. This saves time, effort, and money, and the bags are well-sealed, making them less susceptible to contamination by other bacteria due to air leakage.
