Production of Shiitake Mushroom Cultivated Spawn 1

The spawn produced by inoculating the original spawn onto the same sawdust culture medium and expanding it is called spawn. Spawn is generally produced using polypropylene bags measuring 17cm long, 33cm wide, and 0.004cm thick. The production process is basically the same as for the original spawn, following conventional methods for ingredient preparation, sterilization, inoculation, and cultivation. After cultivation, the spawn can be stored at 3–5℃, but should generally be used within 20 days. Otherwise, due to excessive spawn age, the mycelial development stage will change, affecting both vegetative and reproductive growth of the mycelium during cultivation.
