Production of branch spawn (1)
Branch strains are widely used in bag cultivation enterprises of seafood mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, etc. Branch strains are processed into branches with specifications of 7 mm x 7 mm x (120~165) mm using soft tree species such as poplar. In essence, branches are used as carriers. After inoculation and cultivation, the mycelium is wrapped around the surface of the branches. When inoculating, the branches are directly placed in the cultivation bag with reserved inoculation holes after sterilization. It has many advantages such as fast inoculation speed, fast mycelium recovery, three-dimensional radial spread in the cultivation bag, shortened cultivation time, and improved mushroom synchronization. However, with the breakthrough of liquid strain technology, large enterprises no longer use branch strains (branch strains are too expensive and inefficient), and branch strains are only used in small seasonal cultivations (such as oyster mushrooms).
