What should be paid attention to in the pretreatment of raw materials for white button mushroom?

1. Pre-wetting of straw
There is a waxy layer on the surface of straw, which cannot be directly used by microorganisms and fungi. Usually, the raw material straw is purchased dry in production, and there is an obvious waxy layer on the surface of the straw. Before mixing the raw materials, it must be pre-wetted, soaked and fermented to remove the waxy layer so that it can be decomposed and utilized by microorganisms better and faster. Therefore, in actual production, aerated sewage rich in microorganisms is usually used for soaking. After soaking, the straw is piled up for 2 to 3 days to warm up the straw. During this period, microorganisms will grow in large quantities, decompose and utilize the waxy layer and soften the straw, which is conducive to the uniform absorption of water by the straw. At the same time, pre-wetting also solves the environmental protection problem of sewage in the factory.
Insufficient pre-wetting leads to dry straw, inability to carry out effective fermentation of culture medium, and incomplete pasteurization, which is a common problem leading to mixed bacteria in the pile and low yield.

2. Pre-mixing of chicken manure and raw gypsum
Chicken manure usually has a fine and sticky physical structure. After adding water to the ingredients, it is very easy to adhere to the straw, resulting in uneven mixing. Therefore, chicken manure and gypsum should be mixed evenly and fully according to the proportion of ingredients 2 days in advance before batching. Pre-mixing with gypsum can increase the looseness of chicken manure, thereby reducing the unevenness problem in the batching process.

3. Adequate aeration of sewage
The Agaricus bisporus fermentation plant will produce a large amount of sewage due to cleaning equipment and straw pre-wetting, which is a very headache for environmental protection. We collect sewage into the pool for full aeration to avoid anaerobic odor of sewage. Finally, aerated sewage can not only be added to straw to reduce costs, but also because sewage contains a large number of microorganisms, it can accelerate the fermentation of pile materials and play a good role in the fermentation of culture materials. The indicators that need to be achieved after sewage aeration are: brown color, pH greater than 8.0, and no obvious odor.
