Sawdust strain production （1）

     Chinese edible and medicinal mushrooms have been cultivated artificially since the 1940s, and sawdust solid strains are still widely used. The strain production process is simple.

       Traditional strains use 750 ml glass bottles as containers, and use polypropylene film (3~4 pinholes) and kraft paper for double sealing. Because glass bottles are easy to break and heavy, with the advancement of plastic products, PP bottles (polypropylene bottles) have been developed. The thinnest part of the bottle wall is 0.3 mm thick, and the transparency is obviously insufficient. Therefore, small and medium-sized enterprises mostly use polypropylene plastic bags (folded diameter 15 cm x 32 cm x thickness 0.048 mm) to make strains. Sawdust culture medium (the formula is abbreviated as "782011", that is, 78% sawdust from broad-leaved tree species, 20% bran, 1% sugar, 1% light calcium carbonate, water content 60%~62%, pH value 6.2~6.5). After filling, insert a plastic rod with pre-embedded eye holes in the middle. The height of the sawdust solid spawn bag is 16~17 cm. Seal, autoclave, cool, and inoculate in the inoculation box. When inoculating, hook out the plastic rope that passes through the hole of the plastic rod, and a reserved hole can be seen in the center of the culture medium. When inoculating, connect a mother seed block to the bottom of the hole in the bag and the surface of the material. After cultivation, the upper and lower mother seed blocks extend at the same time, shortening the time to fill the bag. Use plastic turnover baskets to hold the spawn bags. The spawn room should be kept clean, and the floor should be mopped every day to prepare for a rainy day. Check the sawdust spawn bag for contamination on the 9th day after inoculation. Because plastic bags have no fixed shape, you can only hold the spawn bag for observation to avoid pollution caused by air pressure difference caused by lifting and putting down the plastic bag. In China, growers often buy spawns made of plastic bottles from reputable spawn manufacturers, because plastic bottles have a fixed shape and are not easy to produce air pressure difference. Growers can expand and propagate by themselves after purchase.
